A Hotel Reaching New Solar Heights
In San Antonio, Day & Night Solar installed the highest solar system on the roof of a 13 story hotel.
Not only was this a first in engineering and application, but this provided the city of San Antonio
with a proven model to safely implement projects like this in the future.
There is a growing movement in the hotel industry to “go green”. According to the U.S.
Green Building Council (USGBC), green buildings use on aver age 26% less energy, emit
33% less carbon dioxide, use 30% less indoor water, and send 50-75% less solid waste
to landfills and incinerators. The benefits are many. Not only does implementing green
initiatives save money on energy and provide a cleaner and healthier environment, but
going green increases profits as more corporations and consumers choose green hotels
instead of those with no green initiative in place.
